As I told a lot of you, while we were at SDAC/SRT Nats a storm knocked a tree on my project Rampage. It was parked at my parents' house. My mom said she couldn't see it under the tree. Boy, she was right. And it was more like 3 or 4 trees that fell in domino fashion.

But...

The Rampage appears to be unscathed! Or at least as unscathed as it was to start with. A tree 18-20" in diameter right next to it broke about 7 feet from the ground and fell over the top. At least 2 others fell over it, as well. It's in a huge pile of tree, but somehow it looks like almost no limbs actually hit the thing! Incredible.

The same with my dad's '56 F100 he's restoring, which was parked a few feet away. Tree all around, but nothing actually hit it. Just a month or so ago, he cut down a huge, old, rotten maple tree which would certainly have fallen on his shop. He's got a cherry '55 Ford Victoria and a '68 Mustang in there. Everything spared, it looks like.

I'll post some pictures later.

Here's some pictures from this afternoon. We chopped on it and have about 2/3 of the smaller branches hauled out.

Missed the shop, too.

No!! You shouldn't have chopped the trees up. Nature was creating a natural barracade around it to prevent people from touching it.

That's quite lucky of you that your car didn't get hurt nor did the shop.

Yeah, she didn't want to come out of her house for a couple of days!

Wow, that's unbelievable that nothing got damaged! And you're right, one definitely cannot see a Rampage amongst those fallen trees :p

Didn't see a Rampage in there, did see a 9" rear and a nice (50s?) truck bed. Guessing those go together in a project?

Yep, that's Dad's '56 F100 project. He just finished blasting and painting the rear end and getting the bed fixed up and painted. He daily drove the F100 for a couple of years, but it's been parked and rusting for a while before he started the restoration.

The Rampage is under the cover behind the rear end.

Whew! Ducked that one didn't you? I had that took out a tree in my front yard, split it into four peices, kind of like an orange. I had a section of fencing that same down and grazed the front of my Dakota, but luckily no other damage. Nice project truck(s)!
