I literally just got this car, and between making the agreement on buying it and picking it up, my life made a 180, so i no longer will be able to keep this car. I love the car, and it runs great, best TD i have ever owned. I had a couple plans to make this car nice, but i just wont be able to.

Some of this stuff may look familiar, like you may have seen it before, and your right. The person who i bought this car from had a post, and he did the work on the car. I dont know all its history as well as him, so i am taking parts of his post. Some things are different then what he had before.

I talked to him and he said it was fine for me to do this, and any questions which i do not know i will forward to him.

The car:
-85 GLH-T Factory Non A/C car
-Black w/ red interior
-176,000 on body
-No power steering
-Car is in CT, i got it from PA last week, he got it from CT. (this possibly could be one of gus's old cars???)

PICS- http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2086441/14

-87 TII Motor has ~9k miles on a complete rebuild. It was checked for taper and wear and only needed honing. It is still STD bore. Forged rods, cast crank for weight savings, std size Mahle pistons, ARP rod bolts, new main/rods/int shaft bearings, MP 2006 headgasket. Has underdrive pulleys also. Magnecor wires, new cap and rotor, NGK plugs, has a new HEP it died in Maryland so was forced to buy a brand new one. The 02 sensor has probably 500 miles on it, replaced it just before the head was rebuilt. Newer alternator.

-85 G Head has around 400 miles since being redone. New guides, was cleaned and pressure checked, it was resurfaced, had a 3 angle valvejob, new valve seals, it has a repaired hole for the thermostat, it was stripped and they put a heli-coil in it. One pc intake mani with T2 injectors. I think the whole manifold was straight from a T2 car. Has a Vaccuum block from FWD-P with black silicone hose.

-A-520 transmission- Has a dual diaphragm pressure plate, ceramic/organic disk, and a cromoly plate. Trans shifts great, no problems with it whatsoever. Car has a Shadow shifter and Daytona shift cables. I didn't have any Shadow cables so i used Daytona ones. Works just the same. Has a newer SDS also.

-Exhaust-3" side exit. It has a 2.5" flange on it from the turbo, then after about 1 inch back enlarges to 3". No cat, but has a 3" bullet muffler. Exits right in front of the drivers side rear tire, tucked up under the car so it's hard to see. Uses all factory hangers.
Has a proted exhaust manifold, tappend and fitted with an EGT guage.
The EGT is an autometer Cobalt series. Looks good at night, lights up blue. Is wired up, but not really good since the previous owner had oil press and boost, and took them out. All the guages were wired together, so now this being the only guage left, i just taped the wires up quick. Anyway, the EGT works great, and the car runs perfect on the guage, never to high. Comes with the car unless you dont want it, i'll knock off $50 from the price.

-Wiring- 85 TI harness, with the conversion to Daytona TII electronics. I added the wires for an external map, the 3 wire O2, and for the AIS/ TPS connectors. I did not cut and splice, I took these pins from the LM connectors of an 87 TII harness and plugged them into the right sockets in the 85 TI connectors. I wanted this to look factory like, so no cutting and splicing. Car runs fantastic with this wiring and also looks factory. (quoted words from the person who did the conversion)

-Intercooler- Has a front mount intercooler. It is from a small diesel box truck, and fits perfectly in the front of an Omni. The car has stainless intercooler piping w/ silicone connectors & T bolt clamps as well. There is no BOV on the car.

-Radiator and Fan-The radiatior i think is just a turbo car radiator, not definate. It has a slim designed fan. Radiator was just sealed up and presure checked and then painted black right before i got the car. I can get more exact info on this if you would like.

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2086000-2086999/2086441_291.jpg

-Turbo-Has a garrett turbo, and i think it was the T1 that has been upgraded to T2. I am not really sure, but i know it is a T2 comp housing now. The car has a Steel Braided oil feed line. There are no coolant lines on the turbo at all. The previous owner and myself both let this turbo cool after every drive. I give it even extra time since there is no coolant lines, at least 2 mintues after 'normal' driving, and upwards of 4-5mins after 'spirited' drives.
Also now has a grainger valve installed and set to 14psi. I also put on a cone filter insted of the T1 airbox up-side down the car came with.

-Brakes- stock brakes, but all were gone through and replaced if needed. Has new wheel cylinders on the rear along with new shoes, Left front has a new caliper and rotor, and both fronts have new flex hoses and pads. Car stops excellent!

-Body- Has some rust, originally a Connecticut car, adn i brought it back here. The drivers side rear wheelwell is getting bad. There is a spot were i tested it, and key pushed it right throgh. See pics. Its only the edge though, and can be fixed. The floors were rusted, but have been fixed. They look great. You can see where the new pieces were put in in the pics. The paint on this car is terrible, it was previously spray painted over the bad factory paint, and it's now peeling. The roof has been given a coat of spray paint jsut before i got it adn looks ok. The hatch lip is slighly rustyand only on the underside when you open it, but I have another rust free hatch to go with it, just needs sprayed black and installed.

-Interior- No carpet, No headliner and is missing some interior pieces. Most of the interior has been replaced, but it still needs a few things. The 520 shifter was installed so that the stock center console could be retained. Car wont have a radio, but i have on in now and the speakers work & sound just fine. The seats are in good conditon, and are pretty comfortable still. No rips/tears.

-Wheels- Car will come with Pizza wheels, same way I got it. 2 Tires are not too great, and two of the pizzas were machine polished, the other two need to be polished.

This car runs and drives awesome. I hate to get rid of it. The previous owner ran it at Mason Dixon, and babying it ran a 15.40 at 94. 60 ft was 2.75, so you can tell I didn't hammer on it. I shifted at 5k rpm. This car definitely has potential.
"I never beat on the car, I like it too much. I always let it idle for 3-5 minutes after running it, depending on how I was driving it." --previous owner, and i state the same for myself in the 1 week that i have owned it.

-I am looking at about $2500. I would like to get rid of it asap, so i am willing to work with someone on price, and was offered $2000 cash from some local kid, but i turned it down...plus i would rather see a fellow TDer take it.

-I will be including a set of slider rockers, set of lifters, set of valves, spings with under 10,000 miles on them. They were on a head with a light port and polish, and came from FM, so the lifters might be good ones, not sure though. Was packaged together with a .499 lift cam(NOT coming with this)
Also will include a set of T2 shelby z injectors. 1 injector mgiht be bad, but not definate b/c the harness they were on before was bad. Definatly 3 good ones, maybe 4. These are the same size injectors that are on the car, so will be good for spares.

Also, the car will come with the spare hatch if you want it, and a bumper w/ end pieces since the rear bumper on the car doesnt have the end pieces.

You can call me with any questions anytime. 203-767-4001.
