87 duster tranny pan

im doing a filter change my pan isnt co-operating to well don't want to damage the pan or the housing anyone got any tips or secerets

Its probably RTV'd on there, so give it whack with a soft mallet or find a corner to pry down using a pry bar. Just don't push a scewdriver or whatever inbetween the pan and trans otherwise you'll make a gouge that will never seal.
