My TIII is out of the car with the oil pan off
stock oil pan stock pick up

the balance shafts are gone for my engine.....the cradle that holds them in there was re installed but its missing a bolt and im having a hard time tracking down one of those long bolts.....ive read that keeping this cradle in there will solve the windage problems as far as the pick up being uncovered....i would run 5 quarts of oil with this set up............is all of this information correct or do i need to run 5.5.

I did take the balance shafts out of a 2.5 and do have pick up uncover problems on hard turns...i see my oil light flicker

What i can so is take some sheet metal and weld in a windage tray to the oil pan.....i would rather do this than keep the cradle in there

at what depth in the oil pan do i weld this?
how much oil should i run with this set up? 5.5 quarts?
i will run 1/8 clearance on the side walls of the oil pan and weld the metal into the corners
i will cut out the center for the pick up
do i need to drill any holes in the surface of this tray for oil return?

any thoughts or ideas please let me know

any pictures of this already done will help.....i dont want to get elaborate on it....wont be racing this car much but dont want a lot of problems either
