Looking to drop one in and the lower outlet looks like it will come close to the tranny pan rail. So can you actually get a hose on it and clear everything on the trans with a stock 87 GLHS radiator?

If you can do it will I have to pull the trans in the future to get a new hose on :D ?

BTW I have a FMIC and blocked off the opening with a panel. Looks like I can re-route the lower hose to clear. There's just so much room down there...... I love my L-body engine bay ;)!

TIA

I was told no years ago.
So I went with a front mount.

I tried to put the GLHS rad/intercooler into my Omni with an A413.. No go.. The lower outlet on the intercooler hits the radiator long before you're in.. There's at least an inch of interference. Not gunna happen...

I have a 413 in 87 SC, radiator I'm using is from Shelby Daytona. Radiator doesn't interfere with trans, not even close, but lower I/C hose outlet does, it doesn't touch but is very, VERY close. However a TD member told me he's ran this set-up on his daughters SC for sometime now with no problems. Think I'd try to stiffen the engine/trans mounts so assembly moves as little as possible.

Stiffen?

Don't you mean go to polybushings.com and buy Johnny's mount?

Simon put a dogbone mount from an A525 on his 413.. :) That'll hold it still.

Thanks for the info!

My IC is in the front now so no worrys there. The stock GLHS radiator is the problem (confirmed). But I do have a Daytona T1 radiator (MoparN75 is that the one you used or was it the T2 type?).

Thanks all!

Yep, I am running the PB and MP mounts, then modded the stock Omni bracket to fit my trans. So far, so good, :thumb:

Ran one on my Daughter's SC for a few years. No interferience with a GLHS radiator at all. The lower I/c hose you need a feeler gauge to measure the space.

Ran just fine.
