I've been searching and searching.

Has anyone had luck getting an old Shelby steering wheel restored?

I see a lot of places doing old wooden and plastic rimmed steering wheels. But I haven't found anyone for the foam crap we have.

TIA!!!

What's wrong with your wheel? Is it the all leather or the leather/wood?

Contact minigts on here. He just had his 87' S wheel recovered in leather, and it looks great.

For the foam, you may try the various companies that restore the old Mopar Tuff wheels and see what they say. I don't know any of the names offhand.

Try these folks. I've seen their work on leather Shelby wheels. The leather was glove leather, so nice, so soft, I didn't want to put the wheel down. Top notch work, well worth the money. American Stitches at http://www.american-stitches.com/

I have a 87 Shelby Lancer four spoke that was recovered in leather.

It turned out very nice, and feels alot better than cheap OEM foam.
All they did was melt down the foam a little bit,to make room for a layer of leather.
Takes a special machine to do that kind of detail work, and still look professional.

It was a very expensive job,but well worth it for a show car.

Any auto interior shop would know where to have it shipped for the paint and leather work.

Thanks for the info so far.

I have a 4-spoke with cracked foam and a 4-spoke with the foam chunked off.

I found one place that quoted me somewhere between $700-$800 for the chunked foam one.

It's been maybe 4-5 years since the leather wrapped wheel I spoke of was redone by American Stitches. But it was way less than $300 back then. So I don't think it should be difficult to beat what you were quoted and still get a top notch job done.

There are some pictures of the wheel I had done by craft customs. The link to their site in the the thread that T-Bohn posted. Here are my pics of the leather wrap the guy did.
