On my way back from OCMD a group of 4 guys (BMW M3, R32, STI, older Audi) pass by me slowly as they look at my car, i'm just cruising with friends. Later a toll plaza is approaching and both of my buddies have EZ pass and I dont :( , the good part was neither did any of the guys from before. I roll through, pay my toll, and glance to my right to see the black M3 is doing the same. I made a late 1st gear shift and the guy heard the BOV, He jumps on it so I stomp the pedal down, we are dead even until I hit 4th gear and start pulling. 125 in 4th, and 5th is somewhere not on the gauge but I kept into it until i saw traffic piling up. We both slow down and he rolls up to my left from behind, He grins and throws me "the V" as I nodd. I was hanging with him for the remainder of the trip, his buddies would drop back from time to time to give me a thumbs up and battle traffic. I was able to take a pic with the cell phone, unfortunatly i didnt have a passenger to record anything :( , i guess i need co-piloting wench next time :eyebrows: .

well.... the guy did have a hat on with his brim flipped up and large nerd looking sunglasses. Maybe he couldn't do 150mph because he was worried about tire explosions, haha

... and a "PWN3D by GLH-RT" bumper sticker?

would the GLH-RT be able to make the trip to and from OCMD? let alone race on the way there and back? I dont know enough about it so these are real questions. ( its a 3 - 5 hour trip depending on traffic, around 170miles each way)

Where did it come about that this M3 was actually turbo?
I don't think anyone on this site has a street car that can actually hang with a properly built M3 turbo. Those things should be blowing off huge tires in the REAR over 100mph.
I race an E46 once and I am glad he didn't have a turbo.

Probably. Carroll lives in Baltimore. He's raced a Skyline before, hence my comment :)

Definitely. I've driven back and forth to Philly at least 50 times in the past year and a half, broke down once when my acc. belt shredded and car started to overheat. I would not be racing on the way to OCMD though, way too many D*ckhead cops.

I was wondering this too. I benched race one once and almost lost! ;)

Anyone? Come on Brent, you know better....I would put a couple cars on here against any street car out there(Reeves, Rob, Rob, JT etc.)

Yeah, it was probably the same guy.

He had a BOV, maybe it was a fake one since he ran out of money trying to afford his fancy M3 and slamming it to the ground. lolz

.

I hate to say it, but yours too. After riding in it with low boost when you were down at my house, it will easily boogie at least as much as drag radials will hold on the street.

Nobody said it was, are you reading into things again?

He said, the M3 driver HEARD the OP's BOV and hammered it.

Either way, good showing,

Did you read the TITLE of the thread Simon?

I heard a BOV on the M3, I didnt even think those things had turbo's or even needed them until I heard it for myself. It might have had a supercharger but i didnt hear a whine the whole time i was driving next to him. That's why I said turbo M3.

That sure looks like an E46 chassis. The 3.2 stock in it (if it was a real M3) is no joke. Turboing them is not difficult. so it might have been. Nice run.

it had a black M3 emblem on the right side of the trunk lid, tough to see.

How much different do the turbo 3 series with a fake m3 badge look like the car above? That would have a BOV from the factory

He also had a rounded bump on his hood,

I thought the OP made a title mistake, you do it all the time, :eyebrows:

A turbo'd M3 would have been gone, shitty driver and all.

I thought the m3 was V8 powered for that model? The M1 has the 3.5 twin turbo.

Turbo V8, can you say, BU Bye, lol.

Maybe he had that iPhone app that simulates a turbo with a BOV venting, or a fake BOV,

NO! that is def not a v8. they are straight 6's. M5s have the v8. not the 3 series. Im acutally working on a 03 m3 convertable as i type this.

2008 was the first year for the V8 in the M3. 1994-2006 cars were I-6's. Previous to that they had 4cyls.

My point was that he must be very bad at tuning, driving or it is a 328 with M badging.

Yeah, a turbo m3 of that body style would probably put down 350whp on 2-3psi. And i think that pretty much says it all.

Even if it was stock it would still be an impressive win, though.
