I will try to update the page www.srt4omni.com (http://www.srt4omni.com)

This is all rough draft design but get the general idea. I am having a machinest cut out all the pieces so they look clean when built.

Please post thoughts below:

Oh: original thought was to use stratus ac bracket and alternator but now thinking the bracket might have used part of the engine mount?

Oh i know i am going to have to use thicker cardboard..:p

and this last pic still a rough cut out and it has a brace between the two plates where u see the bolt is extra long

I put the 2.2 motor and 555 trans in and centered it then i made this jig to hold the trans in the exact place it is normal in the car and clocked with just the exact factory angle. it connects to 3 points on the trans while it had the 2.2 normally mounted, then u see in this pic with the 2.4 and the stratus mount is hitting the frame it is to thick much like the srt4 mount has to be ground a little.

the new mount i made will be 1/4 inch plate steel so it will have clearance to be adjusted and most important can be removed easy while the motor is still n the car if u have to mess with the timing belt..

stratus mount in an omni with the trans in the correct location and it is touching the frame with no side adjustment. NOTE THIS IS IN AN L-body

I think i use just used a Neon mounting plate in mine. I had to drill out the stock Omni motor mount to slide the bigger bolt through. I'd be happy if you made a 2.4 auto L-body front motor mount though.

isnt the front mount on an auto the same as the standard?

and a buddy bought the adaptor that goes to stratus that only one bolt hold the passenger mount in and if the bolt break the motor falls and destroy the axle and might cause a wreck.. i have seen the torque bolts on srt4 break all the time http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f24/broken-motor-mount-bolt-499081/ so i like the hangover mount so it will catch it if the bolt breaks.

I think i will work on trying to get a power steering pump to clear the frame on the back of the motor

Well I was going to go with something like that but was worried that if the bolt broke the motor would fall so decided to do like the factory and make an overhanging mount style just incase. these are the new design i am playing with still in roughdraft form. opinions

myoriginal design didnt take into account the covers and left a gap in the cover and had to trim some ofthe covers.. this one is perfect shape of the gap in the covers
