View Full Version : Where are the "numbers" on a csx-t?

I'm trying to see if mine is all matching numbers, can someone school me on where those numbers are? :bowl:

I believe the one on the block is just above, or perhaps covered up by the trans. I forget where the trans one is. There should be one on the driver's side strut tower IIRC.

Block one is usually covered up by rust and all the plumbing on a turbo car but its not covered by the bellhousing.

The top 8 characters are the last 8 of the chassis vin #. The other series of characters below it identifies the engine block as originally made, where it was made and what model year.


Theres also a series of casting numbers along the back bottom edge. Those identify what day it was cast, day or night shift and what hour it was poured into the mold. Not as specific (mine was cast 12-3-93, not machined until sometime in january/february of 94) but if the Vin stamping is not legible and the casting date of the block doesnt correspond to an 88 model year its probably not original.

I would like to know where the transmission # is... never found one on mine.
