what cartridge do i need for an 86 omni with 87 electronics? will any of the pathfinder ones work?

Yes.......as long as they don't say 88-94 or something like that.

1993 Pathfinder II Domestic is the best cartridge for the 2000/4000/Enhanced Monitor...it allows recording frames

I have used it to scan/log 85 through 92 Turbo cars without any issues.

I just want it to read live data like knock count and things of that nature. I dont care about logging it really lol.

Yes, that's the one. It will display data in real time, but before long you'll really want to start recording runs...trust me.
