Just got a 85 mark cross lebaron 2.2 turbo log with a auto. Not building a race car but me being me can't leave anythings alone.. As far as the trans I want to upgrade more for longevity then performance but they kinda go hand in hand. First thing I did was put a huge trans cooler. I've been reading all these threads about line pressure increase and kinda makeshift shift kits what do you guys recommend as far as band adjustments and line pressure adjustments to increase some longevity.

Adjust the front band, the adjustment is outside of the case, snug or finger tight, then back off 1.5 turns. Haven't figured out a easy way for the inner one. Get the Sonnax HD band strut for the forward band aka the one inside.

Get a magnetic inline oil filter and put it in front of the cooler, it is a LIFE saver, it will pick out all the little metal bits and save your cooler, worth every penny, saved my trans numerous times.

Do these valve body mods, switch to John Deer Hy-Gard or TDH tractor fluid.

What Simon said and raise trans pressure and put the differential pin retainer brackets on.

Just note that raising the line pressure raises the shift points and makes the 1-2 shift happen sooner.

I'll only add that an additional/better cooler will go the furthest, for the least hassle, HEAT is enemy #1 to an auto (any of them).

LOL Simon, :D

The Sonnax HD band strut is for the low/reverse band, and yes, it is inside. Simon gets this mixed up once in a while.
