i'm looking to make 400whp and maybe more with a turbo change.

what do you think about the eagle rods on forward motions site for $350?

any clutch suggestions? i'm leaning towards a dual diaphragm pressure plate and locally made ceramic disc. i can have this combo together for about $220.

i'm going to order in the next couple of days.

thanks in advance. :thumb:

Just prep the stockers and run ARP bolts. Proven to 500 whp.

yeah, but for how long? .... i'd rather do it right this time and not have to worry about it.

what about these eagle H beams for an SRT4? i thought i read that the SRT4 guys were using T2 rods in their motor, so an SRT4 rod should work in a 2.2, right?

Wallace and Larry have run them for years and still are.

Not sure on other options.

you can use them as they are the same length but you will need to have pistons w/ a .866 pin dia which is all that you would ever need anyway. I am not postive on the bearings I thought you use the bearings for the rod.

I'll be going with a set of Pauter rods for my TIII. Spendy? Yes. Worth it? In my opinion, absolutely! I've been quoted $775 for the set.

Is this a rod that Pauter already makes or is yours the first set? Do the later sets get cheaper or does it just stay as a 'custom' for each set? My TIII bottom end is pretty low on the priority list as it only has 16K miles on it but someday... Puter does make sweet rods:eyebrows: Why do the guys who run AirCooled VW's get em for $450. a set:(

They have the blueprints and all, there at thier dispoal. There have been a few TD guys get them for thier 2.2/2.5s. The rods are done on a made-to-order basis; they are not off the shelf parts for our engines. They are basically a custom piece for out engines, figure 8-10 weeks for them to be made. I'll be sending out an old rod for them to use as a sample piece, just to make sure these new rods keep the factory dimensions. Though I will ask them to make the small end larger so that at a later date if I go with larger than stock wrist pins I sacrifice zero strength in that area.

I am pretty sure you won't need any larger wrist pins than stock. I am using their rods also in my 2.4. They are srt4 rods w/ .866 pins and I have never heard of anyone breaking them
