View Full Version : 1983 Plymouth Road Runner ???

Hoping you guys can help me out. I ran across a car that appears to be an early eighties Road Runner. Searching the web and I find nothing. The decals look original but who knows? Somebody might have added them. Each fender says "Road Runner" with the running Road Runner Bird above the lettering. On the hatch lip, it has a standing Road Runner bird to the left of the "Plymouth" badge.

I can't tell if this is something rare or just somebody's custom touch. Any ideas?

I think I've seen one of these on a turismo? I don;t remember if it was a Corporate creation or a personal one. Do you have any pics?

There was a Volare based RR, but I can't recall if it was still around in 83, but could have been. Got any pictures? That would allow us to be sure...

FWD or RWD? They made a volare road runner up until 77. It might be a dealer one off type of deal to try and move cars.

there was never a 1983 road runner.

the last year plymouth offered a road runner, which was only an option package and not a distinct model, was 1980.

I would say the car is from the '83 time frame.

The Volare based road runner was until 1980. What you have there is an L body Turismo. Those were added stickers, Nothing special.

When iwas a kid, I remember seeing a car like that too. It could have been just a RPO code type of thing and not a model. In other words, just a sticker package for those cars.
