Yep.
First he misses the last 2 SDAC's, then he has his wedding on Norwalk's weekend.
I thinks his future bride is putting the smack down.
Run Marky, run!

I am planning on being there. If I remember correctly, they changed the Car Show a couple years ago. If I recall correctly, the showfield entry is Non-Judged (not even participant judged) and you just pull in and park in a designated area, but not separated according to class. You may be parked next to a muscle car or a oldie. Very similar to Mopar Nat's showfield ("park where ever you can find a spot", except here there is plenty of spots). Or you can pay more and enter the Judged Competition.

Remember Ralph, Jay would get us into the show field under the Car Club.
Otherwise you would have to enter the Fun Field.

Thank Keith. I knew the Club was involved in getting us a better spot. Guess it will be a Fun Field free for all this year. I might have to start boycotting this one, the way I do Mopar Nats. But I think I will still give it a try this year and see how it goes.

Wish I could say Count me in! But SDAC was all we could squeeze this year. We (Jacquie and myself) will be looking to repeat next year, so if SDAC is too far, we may choose one or a # of other events if they're within a 2 week period of each other.

To those of you who will be making it, Have fun and Kick some serious A$$!!!!!!

There were cars from Colorado to the west and New Hampshire to the east. The Pit Bull was sitting with a twisted input shaft so I borrowed my wrenches 95 Neon....I borrowed it early in the year and was runner-up so after winning I wanted to buy it. Only .04 seconds from pass to pass at two different races and a 40 degree temperature difference. He sold it to me in March of this year and in the 11 outings with it I have been semis, runner-up, or winner 7 times! It has already paid for itself...AND gets 42-46 mpg on the way home from far away tracks at 55-60 mph. It runs high 16s and the only mods are TB from a automatic car, home made CAI, free flowing cat (wink, wink), and a cheap dual universal V8 muffler. I added a side exit on the exhaust so I could hear the motor, but it slowed it down a full tenth.

Here are a couple of links to albums with it and you can go back and forth to see what I race against. I race in the Street Stick class which is for ANY dial in of 18.99 or quicker. They passed a Taylor rule for this year because two years ago I made money racing my 3 banger, 19.9 second Geo! We are required to run contingency decals when we race...in one photo I* have them on the sides of the car while in the other they are on the trunk lid...all on magnetic sheeting, as they are with the Geo and the Pit Bull.

Hey Rob or anyone else that knows Norwalk tech well.... I know they always check my seatbelts, but would they let it slide if they are 1 month out of date? I just hate buying them now, when I only have 3 races left this year, and 1 of those races is Clay City, and they never even check my belts. I'd rather buy new one's at the beginning of next years race season.

by the way my engine is toast so I'll not be racing at Norwalk.

Heck yes! Great track, great hook, and granny shifted the trans to that 10.50 at 140 and backed it up with another granny shift run of 10.44 at 139.

Then Sunday they had NO time trials and straight into eliminations at 9am. I was too worried about the dang pretty lights going blink, blink, blink (sportsman tree) and bogged out of the hole :( :banghead:

Freaking AWESOME time though! This is by far my favorite event of the year (besides SDAC of course). And perfect weather.

How did Rob do?, Hope nothin broke. Do you only get to make a couple runs at that event? Dont know if I would tow 1600 miles for a hand-full of passes.
That is how it is a BIR, they typically get 400-500 cars at a regular bracket race, cant get many shots at the track with so many entrants.

Rob melted a piston at the IFO race in Columbus, so his car wasn't at the Mopar World Finals.

Generally we enter the Pro bracket race AND the Ten-O shootout. Since my car was running lean and overheating on each run, I didn't enter the Ten-O shootout. Kind of wish I did now for more troubleshooting.

Typically though, we get 2 time runs on Saturday for the Pro bracket race, and at least 2 qualifying passes for the Ten-O shootout. Then, eliminations begin in for the Ten-O shootout, so you get at least one more run there, and hopefully more (winning). I have won the first round of Ten-O every time, and Rob and Jon Moore have won multiple rounds before. It's a LOT of racing on Saturday if you enter the Ten-O and the Pro Bracket.

Also, there is open time trials on Friday night, which Rob usually makes some runs then, but I usually hang out and have a few adult beverages.

Then, you used to get one time trial on Sunday for Pro bracket (this year they didn't have a time trial) and then eliminations.

The Ten-O typically goes till at least 1 in the morning, and sometimes till about 3am! It's fun wiping the fog off your car before you run! LOL.
