Just got my CSX-VNT #237 back on the road after a clutch disaster
and now under boost I smell coolant. I have no known history
about this car since I just bought it.

Could it be a turbo seal problem?
I do not have an overheating issue like a bad head gasket.

I'm asking to get ideas on what's possible before I rip into it again.

Thanks
Steve

Sounds like you may be pressurizing the cooling system somehow. Make sure that your heater core isn't leaking though. I had one that would leak noticeably at higher RPM.

Turbo seal won't cause a coolant issue.

Is the coolant level going down? Bubbling after driving? If you can't see any leaks, then try a new rad cap, this has caused many to chase a theoritcal blown head gasket.

I am going to try eliminating the head gasket by pulling the plugs out, running each
cylinder to TOC and then pressuring each with 30-40 lbs of air while watching the
radiator level. That worked for a neon i had once.

The problem is exactly what "cordes" mentioned
but "turbovanman" rad-cap sounds right too.

It appears to be a leaky heater core.
No head gasket problems.

Next question....
How much of a pain is it to change the heater core?
Does it require pulling the dash?

It's a real pain. You can do it without totally pulling the dash, but I would recommend taking your time and pulling the dash on the first try. I had an ignition switch fail on my 90' Shadow at the same time I did the heater core. Since the switch was failing intermittently I though that I had messed up a ground under the dash and it took me months to figure out that it was a coincidental problem.
