Took my pile of crap to the track

Well, tinkered with the van a little and decided I you take it to the track to see what it could do. it was disappointing. Got a best trap speed ever, but other than that the night sucked. here's the time slip run down:

rt .263
60' 2.302 <--on slicks mind you, I couldnt build boost out of the hole again!
330' 6.118<--barely started building boost by this point
1/8 8.849@91.5 full boost holding on for dear life!
1000' 11.174 <-- blew a charge pipe just before or barely after this :banghead:
1/4 13.181@108.97

so, bested my trap speed, but the et sucked! if only I could get boost out of the hole, it would have been interesting. no boost till after the 330' mark blew a charge pipe pretty much at the 1000' mark and still managed an ok run. can't wait to see what happens next week when things should be fixed. I'm betting I could eek out another 10mph out of it. :thumb:

I'm doing some weight reduction in my parts van (for a future 2.4 after I get Boost Box 1 in great driving shape...) and I figure it's around your 2460 right now with NO interior except the dash and NO ENGINE.

Did you do it all with a hole saw or what?

lexan windows no dash, pretty much no interior,. fuel cell, skinnies on the back on weld draglites 26 inch slicks on the front with rota slipstreams,no wipers, no wiper motor, no washer tank. i gutted it as much as i could without cutting it all to hell. still have functioning windows in the front doors, the only lexan it has is the rear 2 side windows

Currently yes, but it won't when it's done. I've only had it 2 weeks. Right now everything inside's gone but the dash and seatbelts.

I am still impressed at 2460, that's lighter than Jason (j4278h... I bought my nice van from him, not the stripper) has his, and I think he took out the glass and bolted the door shut.

How about posting some new pictures of your Min. Like the motor, interior, underneath, and gauges. Would be nice to see along with some exterior shots.

It sounds like we had similar results with our van except yours was 2 sec faster.

Had a 2.28 best 60 ft and blew cooler pipe at just over half track and only managed a 15.1 very bad day.

Now my van is down to 2675 with me in it and full drag setup.

Look into a vaccum canister. Build boost on pre-stage and roll in, sliding the brake out.

Why aren't you building any boost off the line? Cam too far back?

How much lower do you think is a safe pump gas boost level with your CR? I wasnt sure if 20+ was safe on a CR like yours on a high HP setup. I would like to know though. I know a near stock TD can push 20 psi on pump gas sometimes but you probably make double the HP on 20 psi.
