OK, I see one member mentioned running an HY35 on an 8v car. I like to know if anyone else has any experience with this?

I have slight headwork done - back cut stock valves and slight porting. I've got flow numbers somewhere, nothing radical.

Would this be a significant upgrade from a stock garret? What are the inlet and outlet sizes? I imagine the bolt pattern is different so I'd have to make an adapter plate. Internal WG? OK, just tell me how much would need modified to run one.

Ah, head flow numbers - here they are. Stock head flow numbers followed by my slightly better head. Stock numbers included since they were taken on the same bench with the same operator (and there was SOME carbon left on the stock head, thus the lower than published numbers):

Stock:

Intake:

.100 47.0
.200 88.2
.300 116.6
.400 135.2
.500 146.4

Exhaust:

.100 38.5
.200 68.1
.300 86.2
.400 101.1
.500 113.0

My head:

Intake:

.100 55.7
.20 95.7
.300 124.5
.400 146.4
.500 157.0

Exhaust:

.100 48.1
.200 83.4
.300 104.9
.400 124.2
.500 132.0

Do I have enough flow to spool up an HY35?

Do you have a Holset available? If so try it. If not, find a used Super60 or something similar.

it only took a week of custom fabrication.. hhaha.
ask me if you have any questions..

yes you need to change the turbo boltpattern.. dont make an adapter.. just cut off the existing studs and re drill to standart t3 size. then port port port..

Paul, how do you like it? What's the rest of your set-up? Any power numbers or quarter mile times?

Wow Paul, that new turbo is way bigger than the old one. Very cool.
