MSD wiiring onto a turbo mopar

It's time for me to upgrade my coil, have to run a .020 plug gap right now due to boost. Does an MSD 6A or 6AL need to be wired to the hep with 2 wires? Is a Crane HiFire a better unit?
Also, I'm under the assumption that just putting a new coil on, such as a Blaster2 won't make much difference without a box supplying 480 volts to it, am I right or wrong?

Dick it wires to the old coil wires for signal and igntion ON , 2 heaver guage wires to the battery +- ,then then msd supplies 2 new wires that go to the new coil.
