New product from "Top Fuel" Bender Fabrications
Billet Adjustable Throw Shifter Arms 523/568

Adjustable Ratio "arm" that replaces the factory arm on the 523/568 trans
Depending on where you place the bolt you can have 100% (factory setting)
85% 75% 65% or 55% of the factory throw (only forward/back throw, doesn't effect crossover selector)

Why be stuck with one setting on a short throw shifter
Daily drive it at 75%, one bolt change will put you 55% for drag racing
Give the car to wife or make a long road trip , put it back 100%
Autocrossing , adjust it 65% or whatever feels comfortable
(Testers say the 75% feels close to the Hurst neon short throw shifter)

All that is needed to install :
Gain access to shifter on trans (remove airbox , I/C lines ect...)
Remove factory shift cable at trans
Tap out factory roll pin
replace arm / re-install roll pin
Place supplied bolt through cable and into desired position
that's it :thumb:

I'll be making a batch in a few weeks, now that the on road testing was a success
The 1st batch will $40 shipped , if everything goes well and people want more, then I *MAY* do another batch if there's enough interest

Here's pics of the prototype (shown with heim joint can be used but made to work with stock cable)
Some basic cosmetic changes have been made
Please LMK if your seriously interested in having one of these
thanks

Are you still going to offer the modified heim joints for fixing the broken 523/568/543 cable ends ? found my broken cable and its a perfect candidate for that fix.

and HELL YES!!! I want an adjustable shifter arm thing. if your only gonna do 1 batch I'll take 2, maybe even 3 to have some spares for down the road.

what about the heim conversions you were thinking of offering? Would make a nice package deal.

IF anybody is ordering a couple , I can combine shipping for a little bit of savings
Order a nice batch of the them and I can work on the price a little too

As for heim joint conversion, I put together and bench tested mine here
I sent of a set for field testing and never got back any feedback
Would really like to have a few miles put on a set before I start selling them

Only difference on the arm is the hardware
The bolt can pinch the heim, can't on the factory/booger bushing
If anyone orders one of these in the mean time I'll sent the other bolt with the heim kit
And of course a discount on package deals of the arm and kit

How about offering complete cables with the heim joints? :)

How about offering complete cables with the heim joints? :)

Already working on that too
Make them short for us L-body guys
Just trying to get a sealed push-pull that a supplier will stand behind
So I don't have to eat the cost 6 months later when they start to get crunchy

I want the heim joint setup for the shifter end since thats where my cable broke, I'll keep the plastic bushing setup on the transmission end since it works for me (I dont jam gears, so completely solid doesnt matter to me).

Craig, If you want just the repair joint I've got no problem selling you one of those

O.k. since everyone wants the heim kit
If I make up another set this week
Who CAN and WILL put a set on their car and test it out for me in this century ???

I've got a DD shadow with a 523 and sloppy bushings. I could get some feedback to you pretty much right away

I'm interested. Can the heim joints be optional? I have good poly brushings but would try out solids. This uses the stock shifter?

Any updates on how the adjustable arm has turned out ? I'd really like to get one along with the cable end 'repair kit'.
