This car was probably a showroom car, as it has every option available in '89. It has T-tops, digital dash, 12 button navigator, power seats, pw, pdl, ac, and rear window louvers. The car used to belong to Scott D. It has 161k miles, has under-drive pulley, Walboro FP, and G-valve. It has been sitting for about 5 years, though. It needs a clutch and master cylinder (the latter from sitting). I never got the car legal, and therefore never actually drove it on the open roads. I was told it screams.

As you can see in the last picture, the floor around the E-brake cable is getting a little rusty. There is also very minor rust around the front of the rear wheel wells where the side skirt attaches. Other than that, it is rust free.

Considering only about 268 Radiant Silver '89 Shelbys were made, add the T-tops, and other options it very well may be one of a dozen or less cars equipped thusly. Price is $2500 the way it sits, or $4000 with a new TU clutch and new master cylinder, all fresh fluids, belts, and a road-worthy going over. It comes with a spare hood, too.

Email me for even more pics. Located in NW New Jersey area (Sussex County).

I used to own this car.

I bought it from the original owner. I think when I got it had 120k on it.

When I got it the rear main seal was leaking. I also found low compression in one cylinder.

I had a good 89 2.2 T2 that came out of my rear ended 89 C/S AGS. This 2.2 T2 was also supposedly rebuilt. I put 40k on it the 89 C/S, it ran GREAT, so it went into this Daytona. I'm assuming that engine is still there.

I also rebuilt the front suspension w/ stock bushings and new ball joints & tie rod ends. A new fuel pump went in at that time also as did a hall effect. Also, I redid the vacuum lines w/ a vacuum block. I believe I replaced the alternator at some point also.

This was a good car when owned it. I only sold it because at the time I had acquired another 89 C/S AGS and didn't feel the need to have two Daytonas. It's a shame to see the rust that developed, it was rust free when I had it, but rust can be fixed. Hopefully it goes to a good home.

I bought the car from Scott and eventually sold it to mike. When I had it I had ZERO problems with it until the tranny acted up. Handled like new, everything worked and the engine ran flawless! Other than the front seats being an 8 out of 10 the rest of the interior looked brand spanking new. Never driven hard while I had it and cleaned it almost everyday I took it out. Its been forever but I think I put around 20 thousand miles on it when I had it and as Scott said the engine in it now had about 40000 prior to that. I kick myself in the butt for ever getting rid of it. Easily best car I've had. Mike u got a pm

I have a 12k mile TII clutch I'm going to install, and will replace the master cylinder for $3200.

This is what I did to pay for the Shelby that's listed for sale.

Truth be told, I really really really don't want to sell this car, and am almost where I have fixed the financial issues and won't need to. You guys are probably doing me a favor by not buying it.
