Force Fed Mopar

What is the best way to build a datalogger on these cars now? I remember seeing things like RS232 adapters and whatnot referred to on the old sites, is this still the way to do it? What program is used on the laptop to read it?
Is there a reasonably priced aftermarket datalogger I can use?
