Minus the retardedness of some of the people on that forum, there are some serious issues with the flywheel/flexplates on the cars...

Yes, some where abused, but seriously, this is something to be warned and shied away from. Minor burnouts and slipping the clutch should at most cause the clutch to break up, not what it is doing.

I only bring this up because we do have SRT4 owners here AND I know people have thought about these modular clutches for their 2.4L swaps.

Lol...I find it interesting that Kevin was just trying to make a point that a flywheel should be able to handle some abuse, and that they shouldn't explode, and he gets flamed BIGTIME. And then while closing the thread, the mod explains that the flywheel is probably undersized...which in my eyes is just backing Kevin up. I agree that the guy was being stupid for doing a burnout like that...but I also agree with Kevin that a flywheel should NEVER do that, even with a LOT of slipping the clutch. What are the chances that a chunk of that flywheel would have made it through the firewall and into a driver? Is chrysler going to say that it's the driver's fault for getting a chunk of flywheel into his knee because he was abusing the car?

Thats bad It shouldnt be covered 100% by the warranty but they do advertize the car as beening a of the self race car and on its 1/4 mile performance so they should cover a part of it.I had the SRT I use to own in for its 3000 mile oil change and I was met at the door by 3 techs and the manager after it was dont asking me how it ran in the 1/4,I played stupid till the one tech said he was at the track and saw my car on the line and herd them anouce my name and didnt get a chance to catch the time. They were all cool and told me thats what the car was made for.
