I'm getting ready to move and have to part with my latest TM:mecry:
I bought this van in Sept and has been very reliable, it passed WV inspection on the first try. I've put less than 500 miles since I bought it but was taken really good care of. I have ALL the maintenance history of the vehicle for the last 15 years.

Taken from the previous owners for sale ad:

I have maintained the vehicle myself, including a complete engine rebuild at 328,000 miles (it didn't need it then, but I chickened out and decided it was time). The factory hone marks were still visible in the cylinders, with less than 1 mil of wear, so, on the advice of the machine shop, I did not bore it but simply put in new pistons and rings. The crank took only a 10 mil grind to restore it. Exhaust valves were replaced, as they showed some evidence of starting to dish. The cam looked good, but was later replaced at 424,000 miles when it started to pit.
Most Recent Major Parts Replacement (working backwards)

497,000 - CURRENT MILEAGE
465,000 - replaced turbo with a rebuilt unit. This was an unsuccessful attempt to solve high oil consumption, so the removed turbo is still in good shape - it was a new unit at the engine rebuild and is included as a spare
433,600 - New AC Clutch
430,650 - Replaced Alternator
423,940 - New Camshaft and Roller Followers
413,333 - New Fuel Injectors
409,800 - Drive Axles, brake rotors, calipers, pads, brake hoses, ball joints, master cylinder
406,160 - Timing Belt
398,000 - Entire Exhaust System - including new Catalytic Converter
328,300 - Complete Engine and Transmission Rebuild including new clutch and power steering pump and factory rebuilt turbo

The previous owner was a hang glider and would transport the glider on the roof of the van. It is no longer there.

FOr some reason I swear the 89's are some of the best built engines. I picked up a 89 Shadow that had 160,000 and the enigne looked perfect inside, the crank looked like it was never ran! Wow that thing sold fast!

Yeah my 89 Caravan engine is awesome! The 87 Daytona I had before it was much less reliable. I'd drive the 89 anywhere at this point.

I really miss this ride, Rich got it from me a couple weeks ago. I met him about 2 1/2 hours from my house and the van made the trip without a hitch, even had over a half a tank:)
