trying to figure out where it hooks up to. It is in the wiring harness part going to starter area, it appears it could be some kind of ground, but was hoping someone could verify from their engine, it is 89 2.2L Daytona Shelby.

Should bolt to the trans case some where (on top I think) or on one of the starter bolts.

Agreed, sounds like the neutral safety switch ground.

Yep, bolt it to the transmission.

Yep... and I've heard that the center of mass little boss it goes to is hand to use to hang the trans from a cherry picker when putting it in out.
