Anyone have any info on how to wire in a port for an iPod, or know of a site that explains how to do so? Or am I stuck with using a cassette adapter?

iPod control via deck won't happen, but I do believe you can use the auxiliary cd player port on the radio to connect a line in signal. I had the pinouts before in the past but I don't know what happened to them. Basically what I remember is you had the 4 wires for the left and right audio signal and then one of the pins had to be grounded to make the radio "think" the cd player was in playing mode.

Ipod compatible head units are fairly cheap anymore. They can be found under $100.

I was thiking of hooking up a input with the tape in. I dont see why I cant just solder on some wires to the read head then to a 1/16th headphone jack.

Don't use the headphone output on the iPod, use the line out on the sync/charge port, that way you don't run your audio through the iPod's built in amplifier before it goes to the head unit.

I know newer head units are cheap. But I like my old --- infinity. It was 12 dollars. I honestly don't listen to it at all lol.

I'm confused still. Can anyone expand on this a little? I understand grounding the number 8 pin via a switch, but I don't know where you would plug your aux. cable into?
