What is the best way to flush a tranny cooler ? While preping my c/v for an engine +tranny swap I noticed the cargo van had a larger tranny cooler but there was alot of metal shavings in the pan. I want to use it but don't want to infect the good transmission I just installed.
There is also a trailer hitch on the van. Did dodge offer a tow package on these ? stiffer springs ? I had to register the vehicle as a truck and not a SW like all my other vans.

Parts cleaner spray ?????

You can buy trans cooler flush in a can from any decent supplier. This place online is pretty good- http://www.bulkpart.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=SFNT&Store_Code=2

After your done with the cooler flush carefully blow some fresh ATF through it with compressed air.

Also, buy an inline filter and install it on the return line AFTER the cooler and before the trans. This will prevent any further junk being introduced into your trans.
