Has anyone been successful in creating a calibration for the 2.4 using a SBEC or SMEC? This would be using a distributor. I am trying to determine if I should try this or just go megasquirt.

Thanks,

Justin

Good question. I know that people have posted the SRT4 timing curves on here before. I would think that with a lot of patience and searching on here you could get it going without too much work.

I remember reading about someone working on a cal for a 2.4, but I havent seen anything about it lately. I will do more searching. With the 2.4 swap getting more popular, a good base cal would be great.

Rob Pachners car runs a SMEC if I remember correctly.

Rob uses one of our stage 5 cals meant for a 2.4 / smec configuration. Justin, you can call us and we can discuss, becuase i think we sold you a cal already which would entitle you to a free upgrade......

rob lloyd made one for sean 1fastcsx289 . i dont know if he posted it or if he just emailed it to sean. i have a copy somewhere though you might want to ask sean himself as he started dialing in the fuel already.

Thanks for the info. Cindy I will be giving you a call in the near future about the cal when I know the exact specs. This engine will be going in my 89 caravan which is the one I bought a cal from you in the past.

I have been having an itch to play with these engines for a while now. I tore down the SRT motor, ordered a new crank ( 3 spun rods :( and I cannot figure out how it happened) So a new set of pistons, rods and a freshen up and it will be ready to go.

oil pump prolly shattered from a bad tune.

I think something happened to the oil pump, but it was out of a stock PT that was not really beat. Rod 1 closest to the pump was the worst and it got better with each rod with rod 4 bearing looking almost perfect other than a few specs of junk which got into it.
