View Full Version : 13's again
Back home now. $15 worth of 114, full interior, M&H slicks, 21psi, open downpipe, and some dreadful RN9YC plugs.
My best pass was 13.869 at 94.76. That was my second pass, all passes after that got consistently slower... 14.06, 14.1, etc. Whenever it was cold it would sit at idle around 14in/Hg, and it would be hard to get it moving. Also, when building boost it would break up very badly. I'll get a video up later showing how bad it was. At the line on that 13 second pass I couldn't build boost at all. I gave it gas and pop, pop, pop, finally after 5psi it stopped, but past 3,200 the brakes let go so I mashed it. Funny thing is that it wouldn't do it warm.
So it was a good night. I think I may have wiped out my power steering pump. After I floor it and make a turn it whines very badly. Did it every time coming down the return road. Doesn't do it while driving normally though.
Took the Acclaim as well. My brother went a 14.995 at 88.01mph running 14psi on race gas, uncapped.
Pics and videos to come later!

That is a pretty fast time for the problems that car has. If you DOHC this winter look out...

Not to pertain to your problems...Are you running straight 114 or are you mixing? If you're running it straight, that might actually be hindering your performance a bit; unless you're running your timing really advanced.
Nah, a mix off 114 and 93 Sunoco. I arrived with a 1/2 tank of 93, and I think I had 3.5 gallons of 114.
Cordes- what do you mean problems? ;) The turbo is a problem, but other than that, just brakes. Nothing else is wrong.
Alrighty, one video so far of the Acclaim. I have 4 more I believe, but I'm pissed now b/c Numbnuts shut the comp. down while one vid was about done.

I kept trying after every pass to see why the plugs were fouling out... still no clue. BTW that's my bro on the left, me in the middle, and Chris on the right (he's got a badass Daytona, S60, Powerstroke I/C, +40's-waiting to see that beast).

There also was a '87 Shelby Daytona there too. 3" side exit straight through exhaust, RFL, MBC at 13.5psi, and alcohol intercooler sprayer. Good idea btw about the ic sprayer. He did one run at 15.7 at 94mph.
