Speaking of this, will the larger car inner joints fit on the Omni shafts(any year)?

For the 568 swap into an Omni there's a couple different way to do this. Here's what I did on my dads TII/568 GLHT, and it works perfect, and you can keep the equal length setup:

Drivers side: I'm using a stock '90 Omni automatic CV shaft, it bolts right in.

Pass side: I'm using the stock GLHT intermediate shaft and CV shaft, but I used the yoke from the 568 donor car. Basically, all you need is that yoke from your donor car(the short piece, about 8-10" long that goes into the pass side of the trans). Then you can just take it apart at the u-joint, and put that yoke on your stock shaft and you're good to go!

Here's a pict. The piece on the left side of the red line is from your donor car, EVERYTHING on the right side is your stock stuff. Just pull it apart at the u-joint, take your old 525 yoke off, put the new 568 yoke on, and put it back in. I would replace the u-joint also, as long as you've got it apart...
