Johnny

I have a Ford parts seller already wanting to carry them.

No, I'm just very capitalistic. When people complain about the price of gas I tell them that they are lucky because if I owned enough stations, I would charge them $10/gal. If they are super popular he will be able to charge top dollar for his top shelf parts. Having seen his products I'm sure they are worth it.

No he's worried the natural gas company will charge him $50 a cubic foot, because they have it and he doesn't :D

Just a sec though, what's the dimensions on those? I swear I've been into something that looks a whole lot like that.

I don't use a lot. They are forced to keep prices down due to cheap skates like me.

I was going to ask about GM mounts but then there already are a few companies that make poly mounts.

Actually I think I need one of those! I'm pretty sure I used that bracket/mount for my Omni with the Nippondenso alternator conversion. I would rather have a higher durometer poly than a solid metal one too.

howabout a metal one with a pair of T bushings on one end.

Johnny
01-16-2011, 10:23 PM
I do not think the alternator makes enough vibration that you could tell if it's a metal mount.
Anyone have feed back on the metal one installed in a car????

Reaper1

Where do you get the metal one? I need one as well!

I'm also going to have to get the poly alternator bushings at some point too...

Being mounted solid is supposed to be better for NVH. Granted we are talking about a 2.2. Maybe they used the rubber mounts to help the alt live longer due to the vibs the 2.2 makes???

You should look into the mount on f body camaros that goes from the trans to rear. I think it's called the track bar. To my knowledge it's a dealer only item. I broke 3 of them In my third gen camaro. Pain in the --- rubber don't last long.

He doesn't make these:

What about factory new rubber ones?
Would you want that?
Have you bought one? It should last for many years.
What if I supplied a factory style rubber one?

135sohc
01-19-2011, 01:13 PM
I wouldnt mind having a new factory style rubber tensioner if it was made of a better rubber compound that would last longer. The problem with buying a 'new' one from the dealer besides the ridiculous cost for a mediocre quality item is that its not a new part. Its old stock leftover from years ago.

Johnny
01-19-2011, 01:45 PM
I might have a source for new ones, I am working on it and what the price point would be.

Cool. Is the poly version going to have a little bit of cushion/give to them ? Those plastic ramcoa bushings are so solid they might as well be made of wood and dont really conform to the area very well.

I have not ordered those from you yet so I am not sure of what to compare them to. If there similar to the front engine mount inserts than something just slightly softer would be what I'd like.

I just hunted down the grommet for the fuel tank vent. Unobtainium. I found some through a Jeep forum. It's the same part no. With shipping the part is $20. The Mopar price was $4.50. It's a snap in grommet.

Johnny, go rent a Cruze and engineer some mounts and strut bars (easy detachable rear one). I would rather pay you than the over priced Chinese ones on the market.

Need a universal engine mount? Making them with an internal locking design.

#1007 Made with steel and polyurethane.
They are an internal locking mount where they lock together for strength.
The second photo shows the way the locking system works inside the mount.
Includes washers, and nuts.
