My dad's plow truck transmission is acting up so he is looking at having it rebuilt. Its a mid 70's 727 that he had previously rebuilt about 15-18 years ago, it had a shift kit put in it . Anyways its acting up and he wants to know of some good kits to install. It will be used as plowing 99% of the time and he wants it to be as beefy as possible, he'll even put a 'race' kit in it if needed he just doesnt want any issues for a long time, if ever! The only thing it cannot be is Manual valve body, he wants it to shift it self and do it strong.

I've heard good things about TCI from other mopar forums, and heard to stay away from B&M, dunno why just been told so.

Thanks for the input!

In all probability it just needs a rebuild. The shift kit was put into the valve body and servos. Shift kits do not wear out. Seals, clutches, and bands wear out. Make sure you have the overrunning clutch spring and rollers replaced. It's cheap insurance for something that spends a lot of time in 1st gear.
