My son, Andy may have to purchase a good used or REBUILT manual transmission. His car is a 91 Spirit ES that came with an a523 tranny. We switched that tranny for an a568 which now has NO 2nd gear. We took the tranny out and dropped it off for a rebuild. It needs 1st-2nd-3rd-4th gear clusters, all the syncros, and the bearings for the diff. Our problem is that MOPAR only has 2nd & 3rd gear clusters available. We can get the syncros and the diff bearings no problem.

Does anyone have a good or NEW 1st and 4th gear cluster available for the a568 tranny (this one came out of a 91 Spirit R/T) ? if not we may be willing to buy a good A568 or a523 tranny. Let me know what you have and about how much you want for it. We live in NE Ohio, zip code 44266.

question....if it is a 91, then why is it a 520?

the 523/568 replaced the 520/555 in 1990!!!

You are correct I hit the wrong button. It is an a523...Sorry about that. I will edit my top post in here as well.

Do you have 1st and 4th gear cluster fr the a568 ? If so are they new ? If they are new can you get more ? Let me know, please!!!!!!!

they are new, i will see if i can still get some, will ya be able to wait until tomorrow to see if i can get them or not. What year 568 is it anyway?

I came out of a 1991 Spirit R/T.

If you can get 1st and 4th gear cluster I will owe you BIG time.

I just need to know by the end of this week.

The tech tells me that the transmission needs 1st-2nd-3rd-4th gear clusters.
He also states that he can get 2nd and 3rd from MOPAR but the 1st and 4th are no longer available. Keep me posted and thank you.

I already contacted them and talked to a salesperson named Dave. He wated the tech to fax him over a list of what was needed and so far I called him again last night and was told that they did not have anything that we needed. But he was going to try another sourch. That is why I am asking in the room. I really want to put together a rebuilt a568 tranny.

COME ON GUYS--ANYONE ELSE have gear sets laying around ???

I'll try and make things a bit easier on you. Your going to be hard pressed to come up with a 1st gear, you can only use a 1st from a 89 555 or a 90-91 568. The 4th is much easier, any 4th from a 555 or 568 of any year will fit. Try wideing your search a bit to include the years/models I listed and you may get a few more hits.
