Looking for a rebuilt/fresh 568 transmission...mine works just fine but its a little noisey in neutral with clutch out...input shaft bearings im guessing? I'd either buy a nice one from someone here outright or even trade this one plus cash for a really good one..

Dude! It might just be your throwout bearing rattling around. Don't think I've ever had/seen a TM that didn't do that (except when almost new :thumb:)

if it was the TOB it would make noise with the clutch engaged...im probably gonna just wind up taking this trans to the shop tomorrow to have the bearing replaced

+1 on throw out bearing

push the pedal in just enuff to put a little pressure on the TO bearing..if the noise goes away then yeah its nothing to worry about

we've had some so bad, that you'd think the bottom end was knockin...couple kicks of the clutch pedal and the noise would go away for the most part...lol

Neutral gear rattle? is it louder if you pop out the clutch faster in neutral and quiet if you slowly let out the clutch?

I take it there was more wrong with it than a bearing.

def sounds like throw out bearing....how old is the clutch/pp setup? maybe the bolts r loosening off or possibly have messed up the PP somehow

Yeah turns out a couple of the gears were all chewed up along with bad bearings...I even stop in to check it out for myself.

Anyway heres the deal...I dropped the trans off at the shop (Scranton Transmission) on December 2nd. About 3 or 4 days later is when I called them to see what was up..thats when they had told me what all was wrong with it..so i told them to give it a full rebuild. On January 2nd i still hadn't heard from them when they said itd be done after christmas so i called them, they told me it would be done the following week because they had a hard time finding parts. I didnt hear from them for another 2 1/2 weeks so i called them again and they said itd be done in 2 days..that had to of been about the 22nd or so of January..i called them a week later and they said they need more time...so yesterday i called them and they said its done and to come pick it up whenever i wanted. I went there today and he tells me they accidentally put it together with V6 parts....WTF!! So at this point im out of patients and tell them that at this point if they cant tell the difference between parts than i dont even feel comfortable with them building my trans...so i told them to give me my deposit back and my trans back...Now I needa go pick up my trans tomorrow with it all in pieces!!! So how about that BS!!!?
