Ive been digging thru the forum here trying to gain knowledge on how to make a 16v hybrid work. One crappy thing is, that everything is spread all over the place. If everyone here posted pics of there hybrids, and maybe a short parts list I think it would be very helpful to anyone wanting to do one of these swaps. If enough people post pics, maybe we can get this stickied?

Thanks

Here's an older pic of my setup. It's a 97 neon head gt4094r garrett turbo LOTS of work done. I have since changed the fuel management and it looks a lot cleaner under the hood with most of those wires gone.

ubmbass, holy firewall modification! what header are you using on that engine? and how comparable is that garret turbo in relation to a holset turbo size wise (not flow), lets say hx35...

i like these pics of l-body hybrids, but it makes me want to wait to build my turbo header. my friend said he will only weld ONE header for me for free, it was gonna be an 8v over the tranny, but maybe il wait for the hybrid :(

The 4094r is a pretty big turbo. I had a t4 holset on there at one point (it was huge) but it didn't flow enough air in comparison, so I pulled it back off. I'm not 100% on the size comparison, but I bet you could get away with not hacking your firewall like I did. I mostly had to because of the dual wastegates/turbo/header combo.

I went with this particular turbo because of how well it matched my goals and the size compared to the 4294r. it flows the same (83ppm) as the 42r but it doesn't take up as much room.

I'm not sure what you mean by "built right in" but it is an auto if you would like to see some video of it running on 6psi on the ghetto wendover air strip/drag strip here it is.

http://youtu.be/s_h0ntlcZqk

Funny if you look closely at the last run you can see a jet landing right at the end of the track.. that track is awesome, ghetto, but awesome! lol

I had riders for all but one of the runs (the 12.88 run) but really, not that bad for the lowest power setting it has (6 psi)

I'm confused, the video says 11psi?

Ubmbass

Ya, notice in the comments I noticed on the logs it was only reading 6-7 psi. I didn't notice till I got home where the boost was sitting. It's kind of a pain in the --- to watch my boost gauge when that thing is going. I need to move where my mechanical gauge is mounted.
