I am putting my 1990 Dodge Caravan ES up for sale.

There are many modifications that have been done to it .

2.5 common block (bored .020)
Forged pistons, new rings, arp rod bolts & nuts, arp head studs.
T3/T4 Garrett Turbo with .63 a/r and a stage 2 wheel
T-2 two piece intake (ported/polished/opened up for 52mm TB)
52mm throttle body
+40% fuel injectors, fwd perf fuel rail, AFPR, fuel press gauge
braided steel fuel lines
aftermarket cooling fan assembly with toggle switch to turn it on
Engine Oil Cooler with braided steel lines
Solid motor and trans mounts by Poly Mounts
F350 Inter-Cooler from a Ford Diesel truck
custom made I/C pipes, red couplers, t-bolt clamps
Devil's Own Methanol Fuel Injection (15 gph)
Zex Nitrous System (55 hp shot)
2.5 inch swing valve
3 inch diameter exhaust with cat converter (no muffler)

Intake and valve cover were media blasted and painted heavy metal flake red and then clear coated (beautiful)

The 413 transmission was rebuilt with Alto Clutches, Cheetah RFMVB,
4200 rpm stall torque converter from Forward Motion, it also has a OBX Posi.

All gauges are by Auto Meter: 5' monster tach with shift light, boost gauge,
and mech oil pressure gauge.

AEM Wide Band O2 Gauge and sensor.
Comes with a new set of M/T Drag Radials mounted on 15 x 7 rims for the front -- rears and snowflakes rims and old tires.
Interior of the Mini has been gutted behind the front seats to save weight.
(right now the Mini weighs in at 3,020 with no driver)
Mini has power steering and power front disc brakes, power front windows, power mirrors and power rear 1/4 windows (but they need switches)

This Mini on low boost has run 13.25 @ 104.38 through the cat converter.

First $3,500.00 gets it with a new head gasket just installed.

I thought Dave was souping this up?

Steal of a price, you couldn't build this for close to $3500.

I just do the work for him. You couldnt come close to build this for that price. Really it will be sad to see it go. This van is iconic in our area.

Thank you. My dad and I both like to think of any project we do as a rolling canvas. :)

I just do the work for him.

After all the effort you put it, it makes perfect sense to say that you should buy it from your Father ;)

Either way, good luck with the sale...if it had some creature comforts in it I would be more interested :(

Whats the out side look like?

It has some rust, not allot, mostly in the rear quarters.
The driver's door is sagging and hard to close but it does close and tight.
You just have to close it harder than normal.

I will take more exterior if you wish and post them tonight.
Let me know Johnny.

Thanks
Chuck

Why is the wideband sensor after the cat? :eyebrows:

Does it make a difference ???

Does it make a difference ???

YES, big time, the cat alters the readings, as the cat throws out oxygen, so if your tuning your AF, its wrong, :(

Good catch Simon. When I originally installed the WBO2 I had a "dummy" cat in place. I guess they thought nothing of it when they welded the real cat in place. I never caught this. Lol

DOH! If this is the same van as your project thread, no wonder you blew out the head gasket. :(

So Dave and Big PSI, you both listing the same cars in your sig?

No wonder i was confused when I was looking at some older posts on minivan stuff...
Ya, I hope you were tuning based on your wideband readings if the cat was installed.
It would have been fine if you had a test pipe installed.

We haven't really changed the tune since Before installing the cat converter. Its roughly the same just minor changes in base fuel pressure.

Well HOLATTA is SOLD...

I will get the final payment tomorrow.

On Sunday I will take it and get the exhaust redone with a new bung in the correct location;
NO cat; 3" dump tube; and a 3" bullet muffler.

The exhaust will still come out on the passenger side below the sliding door.

After the exhaust is complete, Bryan will reset the A/F with the wide band & adjust the boost to 18psi.

Then I will deliver the van to the buyer.

The one thing I like is that the new owner told me that if we ever want to borrow it we could.

My van will make the 3rd 1990 Turbo Mini Van that he owns.

Plus he has a TBI 5-speed 1990 Mini Van. He also has a giant collection of Diesel Vehicles.

I will miss HOLATTA, to be sure, but I have to sell one to get one.

Got the van back from my exhaust guy, and man what a difference between the old exhaust and the new exhaust.

The old exhaust was 3" but it had a cat conv, muffler and the 02 bung was after the conv (duh).

So I bought a couple of 3" diameter pipe, one straight and one with a 45 degree bend in it, a bullet muffler, a new wide band 02 bung, and a 3" dump tube.

Bryan (my son) reset the a/f ratio and moved the boost up to 19 psi, dang it is quick now..

I can't wait to see what this will do with a Boost Button 3 bar calibration and 28 psi of boost once Rob comes and tunes it for the new owner.

Chuck

PS---Bryan will post pictures of the new exhaust tonight with some video.
