I know there was someone on here modding stock shifters for a shorter throw, but don't remember who it was. I'd like to buy one for my 87 Daytona A555 if anybody has one laying around, let me know the price shipped to 13905. Thanks!

If you want a shorter throw, do the easy mod first. Remove the L-shaped (actually is S-shaped) bracket that connects to the tranny/linkage and modify it.

Steps:
a. Remove drivers side tire (maybe splash shield)
b. pop off linkage
c. 13mm open end wrench and remove threaded bolt by rubber boot.
d. remove the stud from the bracket in a vise.
e. drill new hole up just alittle from the old hole
f. reinstall stud into new hole
g. reinstall bracket
h. put some blue loctite on that threaded bolt that goes thru the bracket and connects to the tranny
j. put linkage back on newly modified bracket

Doing this will give about 1" shorter throws in north/south direction.

I'd say drill up enough to leave at least some meat from the original hole. If I remember right you cant drill up to far or you wont be able to get the nut on the backside to turn at all to secure the stud the linkage connects to.
