A tad wrong there, Chuckles. The van's best time was 14.87 at 89.xx mph, you can't put the best of everything on one slip. It fudges the numbers.

On that pass it was at ~16psi of boost, btw. :thumb:

Good time though, thanks again.

How does a stock t2 setup trap 99mph on 14psi?

Glad to see Derwood finally hitting a good time! That thing is clean AND quick:eyebrows:

Well the car only weighs 2650 without my son, Andy in it and he weighs 165 lbs.
The car was on M & H Slicks set at 15 psi.
The rear tires were set at 45 psi.
We had 7/8 tank of Amoco Fuel.
Car was uncapped via a dump tube.
Poly Mounts everwhere.
555 trans with a moly plate.
Launches were at 4800 rpm's.
Shift points were done at 6,000 rpm's.

In my honest opinion I believe that there is at least a 13.50 in this set up with more practice on the slicks.

Chuck

PS---think about this:

The claret red mini van that I gave to my son, Bryan cut a 1.932 sixty foot time on BFG Drag Radials and it weighs 3,200 without a driver.

The KID only cut a 2.015 sixty foot and it should run a 1.80. So if we can get the launch down that would knock off another .40 from the ET in the 1/4.

Oh the weather was GREAT too.

It was 46 degrees, barometer was 29.60, and the humidity was 40%.

Track elevation is at 1135 feet, so the DA was 965.

In two weeks the DA might be -200 feet. (then it is time to go FAST)

What does it cost to run there and how many runs do you get for the price? I'm looking a new track.

Its around 10 buck give or take a couple. The track usually isnt that busy when Ive been there, you can usually make another pass before your car has colled down. Sometimes you can almost do run after run.

I like the sound of that our track is around 15-20 they don't open till 5 and close at 9. The most I've got was 5 runs so its hard to tune with only 5 runs

The cost on Sundays is $20.00 to race
or
$10.00 to watch.

You can get 5-6 runs on a Sunday depending on breakage and car count.
We usually do 3-4 and call it a day.

There is a track rental this Sat and it is FREE to watch.
www.columbusracing.com rented the track.
I can't go as I will be out of town.

Hitting a 1.9 60' in a van on drag radials is pretty dang awesome. I agree that the p-body can do better on the launch.

I am just still amazed at the 99 mph number..

I mean, what power-making mods does it have besides exhaust? Because if i just assume it has an open exhaust and stock everything else it makes it look like a stock t2 setup that might trap ~89 @stock 11psi... gains 10mph just from 3 lbs of boost and an exhaust! Im not doubting the numbers, i am just trying to make it make sense in my head!

Bardo;

There is a track rental this Saturday from www.columbusracing.com.
It starts at 9am and goes to 2pm.
The fee is $45.00 now or $50.00 at the gate.
From 9am to 10am is tech, then at 10am the time trial start.

You can get 20 runs in if you wish because they limit the car count to 30 cars.
They already have 26.

GO and test and have fun
Tell them CHERRY sent you.
That is my handle over there.

VIGO;

In all honestly my friend, there are no mods other then the T2 conversion.
Unless you count the cold air intake and the BOV.
It still has the stock injectors & the stock computer.

Here are the mphs in order that it ran on Sunday.

96.92-----round 1 (missed 3rd gear on 1st attempt)
66.36-----round 2 (lifted, to much boost 17 and a/f was at 12.2)
98.76-----round 3 (launched at 4800 rpm, spun to much)
99.26-----round 4 (came out again at 4800 but rode the clutch to long)

I honestly believe that the car will go 101 mph maybe a 102 if my son gets the perfect launch and good D/A.

Man that Ohio air was working miracles! Thanks for the info.

Our 1990 Sundance went 13.3 @100 with the stock non-intercooled 2.5 running the factory Mitsu turbo at 17 psi......so it's totally possible ;)

Oregon is blessed with good air most of the time......I usually just say "There's just something in the water up here" :D

You know, the more i think about it the more i guess it isnt that crazy. I went 98 mph on 16psi with 7 psi in the first 2 gears in 100f+ heat index. If i was running 14 psi in all the gears in better weather it still probably would have gone 98 mph, or better.
