new style alt on an 85?

Whats involved in putting an 89 alternator on my 85 GLH? I want to keep the a/c and all...so, is it just as easy as swapping them? Or is it more involved than that?

Mine has the giant beast...I want the little one :p

Others have done it differently, but if you don't mind a bit of trimming, the above works nicely.

You might want to search a bit using "nippo" or "nippondenso" to find more threads.

I did the same thing. I used the stock adjuster but modified it slightly. Saved me a good bit of room. It is pretty close to Simon's setup.
