Heh, I got a new one here.

Question: I did my leakdown test Friday night. The 90 psi cylinder got tested first. I got it to TDC and "just" a tad bit down from there. I pumped in 90psi of air and, with all 4 plugs out, I was bombed with air from the last plug hole (drivers side). I mean it was like a direct shot of the full 90 psi of air coming out of it.

Are the cylinders "shared" so that if one intake valve was open another would be as well and therefore I'd get the full blast? I have video of it but I won't be able to post it until later tonight, maybe. I was just wondering what would cause that to happen, besides a fully blown HG.

Thanks,
Paul

Oh, and HELLO From California!! The last time I was here was about 20 years ago. I lead a sheltered life:o

well, more or less, yes. The outside 2 cylinders fires at almost the same time, and the inside 2 cylinders fire at almost the same time.

Well, this is what happened. I pumped up #2 with about 90 psi of air. I felt "just about" the same amount of air coming out of #4, like in this picture:

I have video but I"m having trouble uploading it due to not being at home with my normal FTP program. I'm going to try to upload it Sunday.

Let me know what you guys think. I either have a MASSIVE HG leak or somethings up with the valve(s).

Thanks,
Paul

FYI ... crank TDC is not TDC for 2 and 4.
Move crank 180* from it's TDC and try again.

I used a long screw driver (with someone holding it) in hole #2. It started to come out and when it "just" started to go back down it when I stopped turning the crank.

I hope this helps. I'm going to work on trying to get the video uploaded. If I can't it won't be until next Sunday...

Find engine TDC with valves closed on #1 ... or make sure rotor is pointed at him.
Turn crank CW 180* and your at #3 TDC
Turn crank CW 180* and your at #4 TDC
Turn crank CW 180* and your at #2 TDC

Puppet - I appreciate that info. That's what I needed to know :thumb:

Here are a couple clips of what I did for the leak down test:

Leak Down Test 1 (http://www.wadsnet.com/~alliekat/Temp%20Clips/LD%20Test%201.wmv)

Leak Down Test 2 (http://www.wadsnet.com/~alliekat/Temp%20Clips/LD%20Test%202.wmv)

These are 3mb and 4mb files. I made them with Windows Movie Maker so I hope you can see them (who ever downloads them).

Thanks again!
Paul
