Its getting cold and also I'd like to buy a newer vehicle. This project was started 2 1/2 yrs ago. 92 daytona es factory 2.5na 5spd converted to 16V maserati motor turbo 5spd. Electronics are 92 2.5T1 iroc turbo harness and sbec2. 90- 16V turbo commonblock Maserati TC motor, 523 3.77 ratio with 2.5T1 iroc clutch and pressure plate. Cooling system is a TIII radiator and fan. Has a iroc leather wrapped steering wheel and shift knob. Riding on 225/50/15 kumhos on 15in crab wheels right now. Has caravan big brake upgrade for front brakes. Has 1200mile koni struts and shocks all around with shelby front springs and mopar performance auto cross rear springs. Exhaust is a 2.5 aluminized downpipe back to magnaflow cat and magnaflow round muffler. Body is all stock. Has been insured and being driven. One of a kind conversion. Asking 3000$ for it. Parts alone if car was parted is worth at least 4k.

Pics of it in the lounge from when I built it. I won't be able to post any until after work. You can search through my threads and find new 16v project and it has everything. does no have CS wheels on it anymore. all the rest is the same except i went to a converted 2.5tI harness from a TIII harness i had originally modified for it. http://www.turbo-mopar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34786&highlight=project.

how much have you driven it since it was broke and fixed? Well, how many miles since rather.

Its not my daily driver as I have 6 cars but I've put at least 100 miles on it. The original wiring harrness I made went bad, new harness I took my time with and shrink wrapped all the connections. That was the reason it wasn't starting Since the beginning. I drive it around town and since I only like 2 miles from work on a given day it sees maybe 6 miles so I don't put any miles on anything I own

i was just wondering to see how reliable its been so far lol. But yea its being sold as a work in progress. How much power do the masi 16v's put out anyway?

Factory 200hp but they have a really low geared trans in the TC. With the 523 It has boost and is moving immediately. With a custom cal for over 14psi so it doesn't cut out it easily would smoke the tires in boost from 2k-?. It spools the factory ihi turbo like u can brake boost an auto car. I can slip the clutch and its spooled and smoking the tires

Oh... I surely do, but you know how us die-hard TMr's are.... too many horses in the barn and not enough hay.

SO a question then if I may? this masi moto vs a lotus head motor they both T3 right? or T3 only considered the lotus and not all factor dohc turbo 2.2's?

Alos what are the differences that are 25 hp less versus the lotus head is it a different set of cams ecu programming what? and what about torque?

Oh and you fix the rust issue?

Masi 16V engines are NOT T3's. The T3 uses the Lotus head(Spirit R/T and Iroc R/T). The Masi 16V engines are 100% different. Different head, different manifolds, different design, different everything. There's not one single part that interchanges between the two. The valvetrain in the Masi head is FAR superior to the T3. Intake and exhaust port design is also much better. I'm not ripping on the T3 drivetrain, so you R/T guys dont get all pissy :) LOL, but the Masi head design is far superior, without a doubt. The HP is low on the Masi engines due to insurance limitations. The factory had to detune the Masi 16V engine to keep the HP down, inturn keeping insurnace costs down, so cars would sell.

The big downfall to the Masi 16v drivetrain is parts are expensive, and hard to find.

Insurance limitations? So what happened to the insurance industry before 1991 that made 225hp ok? Insurance is largely placed on driver history and probablility of colision. I would imagine the geezer mobiles that these engines fell into were pretty cheap to insure.

Where would one buy parts for this motor? And how long will it take to get them?

Get lucky and find somebody that's been hoarding TC/masi parts, or make em!:)

Was this the one you had at Carlisle in 09? Pretty sure it is.

Sweet ride, for sure. Well worth the $. Someone needs to buy it.

change the thread title, this one will sell.

"16V Masi turbo motor FS, comes with free complete 92 daytona!"

GREAT price. I remember talking to LRE back in the day, he wanted $4k for just the long block. too bad I'm not wealthy (or hoarding Masi parts).

yes same car from carlisle in 09. i fixed the one hole the car had in the floor. Alan already has enough motors im pretty sure. Rdi performance makes a lot of parts for this motor. i also have some hoarded away. the 523 alone mated to motor made a big difference over the stock getrag 284 trans with very low leisure type cruise gearing. sorry for not answering any questions to this thread sooner.
