looking for an '89 shifter out of a G body (the kind with the curved handle).

The curved handle are in the P-body, not the G body. There's one in Ecology in Wilmington.

but.....I have an '89 P-body. Its all stock (555) and it has the straight handle?!

The only ones I know for sure have a curved shaft are out of H body cars. The 88 CSX, and 87-89 Daytona ones I have had were all more or less straight. THe 88 Lancer Shelby I parted out had a visable curve to it.
