View Full Version : Check Engine/Power Loss light issues

My Power Loss light will come on randomly, without there being a code. Or at least, it comes on, and when I check for codes, there are none. Usually after I check it will go off when I start the car again, but sometimes it stays on. It does not go into limp-in mode when this happens. I am running a 3-bar cal and at first I thought it was maybe something up w/ the flash-check-engine-light mod for detecting knock, but we can't find anything wrong in the cal. Is the a wire that could be touching another or grounding the light circuit at random? Anybody else had this issue before?
BTW this is on the car in my sig.

I look for connections at the LM. I found a few on mine a couple years ago. I tweak them so they make good contact. Sometimes it works.:)

I've cleaned up the connections at the LM several times. I haven't tweaked the plug side yet though, not sure how to go about it. I really don't want to pull all the wires out :)

Are you running / plugged in all solenoids that cal needs (EGR,BARO,Evap......)??

All solenoids are plugged in electrically, not to say there isn't a bad connection on one.

That's what tripped mine for a LOOOONG time. People that rode with me kept saying, "You've got power loss...." It got old after the first YEAR.
