Id love a set of poly steering rack bushings? Whats the possibility of getting those made up?! Ive got everything else in my car poly, why leave old soft rubber steering rack bushings?

Bushings? What bushings? Isn't your rack bolted solidly to the K-member like every other 80's FWD Mopar I've ever seen?

Every 80s FWD Mopar I've worked on has had a rubber bushing mounting the passenger side of the rack to the k-frame. The driver's side is mounted solid however.

That's right, I forgot about that.:o

That little rubber piece I don't think flexes enough to warrant it being made in poly. It's hard enough to tighten down that bracket with the lines in it. Maybe get a new one.

Mines tore up and I want a new one. I figured go big or go home, right?!

+1 How much does it really do ? more of an insulating sleeve vs an active bushing IMO.

Maybe but when a new one is $5 and will last another 20 years unless constantly marinated in 10w30.. Not to put your idea down at all but from a price standpoint alone I dont think something like that could be done unless you wanted to pay alot more. Take a look at a new undamaged bushing, its got some intricate molding requirements to make it.

Correct....price of mold plus selling only a few, not happening probably. No advantage of poly with this, since the other side is solid mounted anyway.

I just pulled one that was sitting on my shelf that came from a rack I used for a year. Looks new, and is at least a 90dm rubber if not more. Isn't gonna get much better than that.

Just order a brand new one. They are pretty cheap.
