Pulled this muffler off a 1998 neon with 82k on it. Pretty good condition. Has a little cancer going on. Was planning to sand it down, and put maybe JB weld on it, or something strong to withstand exhaust temps, but stop the rust from spreading. Ideas?

There are 2 walkers for $75 and $100. If its noisy I would just replace it. If not you could weld a patch in. Hard to do if rusty though.

Will be hard to weld a patch on, the skin is very thin, it will easily burn thru.

That's why I would just replace it.

I already have a magnaflow on my car. Seeing as my car is n/a, I can do without the "look at me" muffler sound every time to go anywhere.

So just put it on, maybe paint the patch with some high temp engine paint.

its going to rust from the inside, it looks alright though, I would just throw it on. the one on my neon has almost disintegrated and its still quiet.

I will, but need something for now. $12 from the yard, beats 60 plus shipping from rockauto.com at the moment.
