I have a 2.4T in an 89 Voyager running chipped ecu and a distributor. I had an issue a few weeks back of cuting out during boost, I took care of that by putting 8.5mm wires, colder plugs and a new fuel filter, seem to run fine just a little rough idle from the plugs being gapped close. I got bored a couple weeks ago after it was running fine to try and back the plugs off some to see if it idle better. Went from .028 to .032 took it out and did two pulls ran good. I came up to a stop sign and went to roll into it and started cutting out and bucking when I'd give it gas and at idle. I pulled the plugs they were black, put new plugs in it and returned the gap to .028 still rough and plugs black. Replaced the 02 sensor as well, still having the issue. I know its hard to diagnose over the internet, but what are your thoughts? Vacume related? Coil? The more I think on it the more I think the gapping of the plugs wasn't the cause more of an affect.
