Well I did like it, but it was the only good source for decent Type F oil... Redline Type F synthetic from Summit. Cost me a bit. Where do you guys get yours?

My problem is that they are always out of it, and the one place is crappy brand.

Oh well. Maybe another time.

I end up getting the generic stuff at Walmart.

As long as it says "meets Ford spec (I think it is M2C33F)" you are OK on it. I am using Mopar ATF +4 in mine.

PepBoys has it. I just got home from buying some for the Horizon.

The reason type F makes the shift harder is because it lacks the lubricity of the other stuff. The bearings won't like it either. If you want to use it anyway, then mix 1 to 2 Qts. of 15-50 Mobil 1 in there to protect the bearings. (and no more because it will slip with more than 2 Qts) I use Dextron / Mercon III W/ 15-50, and never had problems yet.

Type F lacks the Friction modifyers, thats why it shifts better, doesn't let the clutches slip.

Good tip TJ, I run it but havn't noticed any bearing wear in my trans? except blown parts if you count that, :o

I want to get 100,000 miles outta' my trans before the bearings go. I *know* with type F and nothing else the bearings look excessevily worn at 20,000 mi. Results may vary, but it seems to be close sofar. I don't blame the Type F for the parts breakage though TVM.........
