FOR SALE:

1987 Shelby Lancer #149 $ 2500.00 Or B.O. or Trade+
5- Speed, Cloth Seats 96,XXX miles.
Mostly Stock.. 2.5 downtube, 3" exhaust. Interior I think is decent for it's age. Rip on the drivers seat. Windows, seats, door locks all still work. Trunk still pops with remote lever. E brake does not. Typical cancer on passenger side rear fender. I am missing two CS emblems on two center caps.. Trying to find replacements.

Why am I selling? The wife and I decided it time to move back to NY. She is already up there getting the kids ready for school. We need to clear the "shelf" and make some room because I can't take everything with me. My Harley is also up for sale (if anyone is interested) I'll buy another down the road. Unless of course anyone wants to trade a wagon or Van plus some cash... hint hint...

I 55 south to I 12 East to Mobile............................................ ....................

10 hours, 46 minutes by MapQuest.

I wish I had a place to park it inside. I already have one that clean. Did I mention that I already have 5 H bodies, and an 87 Shelby Z?
Is the A/C evaporator still in the car?
Nevermind, I see the connector on the firewall. :o:hail:

Back to the Niagara Falls area. 14108 to be exact. Moving back home. Or hell you could fly down here, we could grab some beers at the local hole, and you could drive it back. It will make it without an issue.:eyebrows:

No one was hurt. I was traveling about 35mph in a 45 mph zone behind two other cars.. She was at a stoplight facing the same direction after I have made a left hand turn. (so i was sitting at the light facing North, she was facing west. I turned left which put me traveling west) She came up behind me and all I saw were headlights and which seemed to be an SUV traveling over the back end of my car... that's all I saw when my driver seat broke which put me belly up in the back seat (almost). I reached up to grab hold of the wheel and guide the SL to the side of the road/grass.. I wasn't going too far since my rear fenders where sitting on the tires... Everything came to rest and I was just sitting in the seat thinking.."WTF just happened?" I just sat there looking in my rear view and watching her check out her Pathfinder... thinking.. "no that's ok, I'm alright......-----" I got out and the tears started rolling.. "OH MY GOD! I'M SOOOOO SORRY!!, I don't know what happened, my brakes just locked up!" "BECAUSE YOU WERN'T PAYING ANY ----ING ATTENTION TO THE ROAD IN FRONT OF YOU!!" so then she came with the kicker, "I don't have any insurance, so what should we do?".......... You have got to be kidding me?..right? So to make a long story short, I yelled at her for having her kid in the front seat and told her she was irresponsible to be driving around with a kid and no insurance. She said she couldn't afford it.. ( but she can afford a 2002-2004 ish Nissan Pathfinder). WE just went our separate ways because I didn't want the hassle of going to court for weeks/months and the outcome probably wouldn't have gotten the lancer fixed anyways. So I got pulled over down the street because I had smoke billowing out of the wheel wells. I was trying to make it to the gas station to fill up the air shocks and hope they lifted the car enough to get the fenders off the tires. So after a 2 car police escort, I got to the gas station to fill em up.. And they did their job for about a 1/4 mile and then went back to rubbing... so I limped her home and got the grinder out to cut up the driver side fender (passenger wasn't as bad as I had thought). I needed to get to work today so it was painful to sink a cutting disc into the sheetmetal but it had to be done. I'll get some pictures up in a little bit...

I might be looking for a donor car to put the engine and trans into, but I'll have to check out my finances to see if that can happen... I still have the PT to fix. Maybe someone will have some parts to trade... like a stock turbo for the PTGT... lol

I know how you feel man, my Magnum just got wrecked too and the other guys insurance isnt paying up. Ill probably end up fixing it.. eventually.. out of pocket.

Do you have uninsured motorist coverage? File a claim on yours and just pocket the money if you have the option. Also, i know you're a nice guy and all but my mom got into a situation like that, took the other guy to small claims court and got her money in small payments over the course of years until it was paid up. Just for future reference.

What kinda car you looking for? You hardly need finances at all if you buy from me.

How bout a 90 vnt daytona body? Youd have to put your motor and stuff into it. Probly no rust, $200 + odds and ends from the lancer takes it :p

I havent picked it up yet so no pics.

She would have coughed up the title for her car if that happened to me. OR spent the night in jail with her kid at child services till somebody pick up the kid, and the vehicle impounded. Isn't no insurance against the law in Alabama?

So you just left? Didn't have the police involved at all?

Well, to each his own, and I'm very glad that no bodily injury occured. Sad to lose another beautiful car. Hope everything works out for the best!

Yeah I am fine, I was a hurtin unit today though. forearms, back, legs.. Feel like I've been working out in the gym..

Thanks for askin.

Raccoon; I guess you don't have to play by the rules.. Just don't get caught. It is illegal in Alabama to drive without insurance. They like to do Roadblocks down here so she has been lucky.. However it is only a 50 dollar fine if you get caught. In NY you'll go to jail, been there done that when I was younger..

I would really have gotten a police report... at least there would be a papertrail of the accident.
If you wanted to go after her now she could have her redneck boyfriend do a ducttape coverup and say its always been damaged like that...

sorry to hear about it. i always wanted a lancer.

Yeh its close to $1k down here and if you get repeat offenses you're likely to lose your license which costs even more.

What a shame!!! I am glad you are ok!! I hate to see another numbered car destroyed. I had almost the same thing happen to me in my 81 Reliant K. I was sitting at a light and was rear-ended by a cement block truck. All I remember was looking in my rearview mirror and seeing a truck grill and then looking at the headliner of the car. I used the money from that to get my 84 Daytona Turbo. I hope you don't have any lingering back problems. Again, I'm glad you are ok!! djd.

Wow, man. Sorry to hear this! I agree with the others and say you should go after her. It might be too late now, but I would see if you can find out who she is. Any mother who drives around with a kid in the front seat with no insurance should not be on the road.....or a mother. What if the kid got hurt? Or what if the next guy she smashes into cant afford to walk away? If nothing else, it would hopefully put an end to her potentially screwing up someone elses life........and you might get a check for 25 bucks a month for the rest of your natural life. :p

......and you never know if your back is messed up, it might be a while before it surfaces.

Twisted Noodle
08-13-2010, 08:49 AM
Yeah I know, I suppose I wasn't thinking straight. I just wanted to get home. I wasn't thinking about the future of the kid. She is a retard and I will come across her again... small town. Won't be hard to spot a Black Pathfinder with an f'ed up front end..

... On a lighter side I found an 88 Aries down here with a broke down motor. Trying to get pics, they are asking 450 but I'm sure I could get it for 300... Who the F would want a Dodge Aries??? Let alone one that doesn't run!!

I had a Caravan in my lap when I totaled my 86 Lancer. It was a Sad Time pulling that apart to send it to the scrapper. 8 years and 4 cars later we got another one we missed the old H body too much. 86 LeBaron GTS Turbo. Went from a 86 Lancer with 2.2 TBI Stick No AIR To a Fully Loaded Turbo LeBaron.
Be Glad you weren't SERIOUSLY hurt. It's been 9 years (in Nov) since my accident and I still think I tweaked my back from it.
I might be traveling through Alabama next Month. Can I have/purchase your Lower Driver's side Kick Panels?

For that price.. i dunno.. :pi bought mine non running for $100 but that was after i visited like 4 times over many months and finally talked em into that.

Turbo aries are light and quick. Mine, Pats, Brian's, all good examples of relatively mild motors and light weight = GREAT SUCCESS :p
