I'm swapping in the 2.4 and want to weld in a bung for the front side of the trans where the factory hole is on the 2.4. What alloy is the trans? I need to know to select the right wire. Or is there some kind of universal wire that works?

Thanks

4043 seems to work on intake manifolds, I would imagine the alloy should be similar.

I typically use 5356 rod as filler when TIG'ing Al

Dont necessarily need to add a threaded insert to the case, there are other ways...

I wasn't going to add a threaded insert, just a tube.

Either way.... I didnt mod the case on the 568 behind my 2.4L

What way did you go about it?

I thought I posted pics somewhere... I'll have to look. I made the front mount use the two existing bolt holes in the case and the ear on the block with a bolt head turned down into a dowel so the mount actually bolts to all three locations. It is similar to what Carlos did when he had the 2.4L / A568 in his '91 Daytona.

I'd be interested in seeing what you did. I might have seen it before but don't remember...

Did you ever find those pics JT?

Not the prettiest mount but its a brickshithouse... definitely on the to-do list to make a nicer one.

Made a thread so we dont de-rail this one

+1 I believe that is used for cast aluminum, I've had good luck with it too
