Where are you planning to mount the battery box and kill switch?

blk86trbo
02-27-2011, 03:59 PM
Looks nice Wes, the filter box looks right at home there. Have you considered putting the battery over on the other side? Placing it on the passenger side would help balance out your body weight, plus putting weight behind the rear wheels is the worst place to add it on a FWD. Really really coming along good man

I actuall have dc zip ties hahaha im not going to run the zip ties I have brackets to mount the wiring on just dont know if I like them or not the red zips are just temps. Not sure on where the battery is going to be mounted yet possibley in the spare tire well and vent it out the sunroof drip tube holes near the rear tire wells

If you relocate the battery (anywhere other than in the engine compartment) and plan to drag race it, its gotta be in an approved battery box and you need an on/off kill switch on the back of the car.

haha That setup looks so cool man, I can't wait to see this car in person! BTW, don't get your hopes up on those wires. I have that exact set and the FACTORY crimp at the plug came out, so just be careful with them. If at all possible, try and use as little of the coil wire as you can so you'll have spare for when one needs to be fixed. Just ask me how I know. :)

I think Tim said he 10 of them? Guy made them on a plasma or torch cutter. Laser or water jet would be cleaner though.

does it have the paired cyl scale thing or are you running mismatched injectors?

86seeS
03-09-2011, 10:23 PM
mismatched +20 and +40

Aries_Turbo
03-10-2011, 09:57 AM
isnt that a little bit much or have others tried that combo and have it work?

later +40's are more like 58lb vs the 52lb advertized size.

i would have thought +40's and 2 DSM injectors would be a little more matched to the actual requirements.

Was the original T-I TB discarded to benefit from the larger/later TB or for other reasons?

There are so many nice/rare/DC classic parts on this car, an additional poll category may have been "Make a Nostalgic DC 2.2 Charger".

Thanks and nice job!

I just noticed - you have the DC intake on there, right? So, then, cyls 1&2 need the enrichment, not 3&4... crap, I just had it all boxed up, too.

Oh, and I set the boost for 14psi since you're only running a 2-bar. The computer can't control the boost past that point. Need a 3-bar for 20psi...

Top mount intercooler heat soakes REALLY bad so between runs we sat bags of ice on it. Going to pick up a cyr02 intercooler chiller from dei very soon

Chilled water would probably work better, but would be pretty messy too...

You know, to get the most out of the added weight, maybe consider using Nitrous to cool the intercooler.... the solenoids, nozzles and associated plumbing would only add another 2-3lbs... Plumbs right into the discharge side of the cooler...

zin

Good to hear the clutch problem is gone, especially since you didn't realize how much of a problem it was! Definitely have the engine all figured out before you get into adding the nitrous, if there is a problem with the tune, nitrous will only amplify it!

I also like how you did the headlight/screen, and think it would be a great write-up to post, something simple, but highly effective, and best or all, cheap! Not only all that, but I suspect it will be basically the same for a non log car, though the plumbing will be different.

Ill start a write up on the light tonight... Im going to get a new tune for the nitrous, +40s, 3 bar, on 20lbs since the clutch will hold it now yea, i didnt have the 3bar and +40's when i ran 12.55 @119, we were running the good ol fashioned bleeds and diodes back then.

Cars still on the +20 and the stock 2bar map I havnt got a tune yet. The only thing different from the pass tonight and the 14.1 pass a few weeks ago was the new clutch and 4gallons on 93 oct an 1 gallon of 112 race
