A friend of mine told me that he's selling his truck and he knows that I want it. It's an 2002 3500 H.O. Diesel 6-spd Sport. It's got 114k on in and it's in nice shape for its age. The only problem that he's had with it was that he replaced the motor computer twice and they are close to $700 to replace. Anything else that I need to watch out for on this year diesel? I already know to look at the door bottoms on these trucks.

The price is right at $15k

That being said,... anyone looking for a sweet gas tow rig?

#1 thing to look at is fuel pressure going to the VP44. The stock lift pumps on these trucks is not very good to say the least. Driven too long with low fuel pressure will take out the injection pump. If you do end up getting the truck, upgrade to an aftermarket pump as soon as you can.

Check for oil leaks, front end parts, make sure the rad isnt clogged up from oil residue from the puke bottle. Overall they are nice trucks, I've been happy with my '02 2500 so far.
